Cancellations and Refunds – The customer and the bakery may cancel an order at any time. Buttered Marshmallow’s refund policy is on the invoice and contracts. If the bakery cancels the order after the final “no refund” date, in most instances a refund will be given unless the contract states otherwise. Failure to pick up an order in the time agreed upon and shown on the invoice indicates a cancellation by the customer and no refund will be given.
Custom Cakes – Buttered Marshmallow can customize cakes for your celebration. We are happy to accept inspiration, but we do not copy other work.
Decorating – Published pricing includes basic decorating (standard borders and writing) using a single color/flavor of icing. Additional decorating with buttercream, fondant/gumpaste, floral, figurines, signage, etc. is priced based on the decoration and time.
Delivery Services – Delivery is offered in the Omaha metro area based on availability. Pricing depends on location. Additional fees such as parking or permits are added to the delivery fee.
Gluten Free and other Specialty Diets – While a few of our items are naturally gluten free (pavlova, flourless chocolate cake), we don’t offer gluten free as an option. We can make recommendations for bakeries that cater to special dietary requirements. Specialty items, such as egg-free, can sometimes be accommodated. These items are at a different price point than similar items with our regular ingredients.
Inspiration Images – -please feel free to send inspiration images. Buttered Marshmallow does not copy work, but we are happy to put our character into your vision.
Invoice – Invoices are sent by email and a text is sent when the invoice goes out. Invoices have complete information on the order, payment details and options, and pick up location and time. Always review the invoice carefully to confirm information.
Lead Time – We prefer a three-day lead time. Availability depends on previously scheduled orders and other scheduled events. You can always call the bakery if you need your order in a hurry.
Payment – Full payment is always due on invoice. Our preferred payment method is standard Venmo. PayPal and credit card payments will include a vendor fee which is outlined on the invoice. Cash is accepted at least five days prior to the order pick up date. Buttered Marshmallow does not accept cash at pick up. Orders not paid in advance are considered cancelled by the customer. We are happy to work with any customer as much as possible, so please contact the bakery if you need time or accommodation.
Pick up Location and Information – All orders are available for pick up at the bakery. Your invoice has complete information on the pick up time and location. As Buttered Marshmallow is located in a residence, it is critical you confirm you are at the correct location before approaching the house and knocking on the door. Orders not picked up are considered cancelled and are not eligible for replacement or refund. If pick up is not possible at the time arranged in advance, contact the bakery at least 24 hours in advance to make other arrangements.
Pricing and Quotes – Our website has complete information on pricing for most standard orders. We are happy to discuss special and fully custom orders.
Rush Orders – When we have availability, we will fill your order without additional charges for quick turns.
Smash Cakes – We love to do Smash Cakes as part of a larger order. Smash Cakes are 4”/2 layer cakes, or you can go all out for your little one and order more layers or a larger cake. We do not offer 4” cakes separately.
Trademarks – Trademark and copyright laws are very clear and important. Holders pay for those rights. Buttered Marshmallow will not use copyrights or trademarked images without written permission from the holder. We do not make exceptions. We are happy to decorate cakes using certain colors or styles that you can then add your own decorations.
